Vintage 1940's Purse

I just bought this 40's vintage purse, and I'm so excited! It seems to be in perfect condition. It's made from black corde, which was extremely popular during the 1940's. Corde was advertised during the 40's as the longest wearing of all handbag fabrics, and has a very elegant look. It's also lined in satin and has a cute double clasp :)

I've seen one of those on a car boot sale for almost nothing, I regret I didn't get it.

Congratulations dear.

Sweet. I love those bags, my grandma used to have those and I played with them. I wonder if she still has them somewhere...

I absolutely LOVE vintage handbags! We have a hospice thrift store here that's just a treasure trove for vintage handbags, and I've collected some fab ones over the years. I much prefer vintage bags to new ones.
